Job summary

Yellow Iron Fleet is seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Fitter to join our maintenance team at the Atlas Campaspe Mine site in NSW. In this hands‑on role, you will service, repair and maintain heavy mobile plant equipment across mining and civil construction operations.

You will diagnose hydraulic, diesel and electrical systems, perform scheduled servicing, and work safely to meet environmental standards. A Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology and a current HR licence are preferred.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent required.
• Proven experience with heavy mobile plant equipment in mining or civil construction.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines and electrical diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Conduct breakdown repairs on haul trucks, excavators, loaders, dozers, graders and rollers.
• Inspect and test machinery to ensure operational readiness.
• Diagnose faults in hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot issues and implement repair solutions.
• Follow site safety procedures and company policies.
• Ensure work meets environmental and safety standards.
• Participate in safety meetings and risk assessments.
• Operate and maintain workshop tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Perform field service work, including remote repairs.

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and safety focused Heavy Diesel Fitter to join our maintenance team at the Atlas Campaspe Mine site in NSW. In this hands‑on role, you will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining heavy mobile plant equipment used across mining and civil construction operations. Your expertise will ensure our fleet remains reliable, safe, and compliant with operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Conduct breakdown repairs on a range of equipment including haul trucks, excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, rollers, and water carts.
• Inspect and test machinery to ensure operational readiness.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults using OEM tools and manual techniques.
• Troubleshoot issues and implement effective repair solutions.
• Follow all site safety procedures and company policies.
• Ensure work meets environmental and safety standards.
• Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
• Operate and maintain workshop tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Perform field service work, including remote or on-site repairs.

About you:

Experience & Qualifications

• Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent.
• Proven experience with heavy mobile plant equipment in mining or civil construction.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and electrical diagnostics
• Current Driver's Licence (HR preferred).
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.
