Job summary

Aston Advantage is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Fitter/Mechanic for Peak Downs Mine Site in the Bowen Basin, Queensland. The role focuses on servicing, repair and overhaul of a large mobile mining fleet, ensuring reliability and availability targets are met.

The position offers a casual flat rate of 91.25 AUD per hour with a $3 per hour performance bonus, 12-hour shifts, and a 7/7 lifestyle roster. Camp accommodation is provided and travel is to be arranged by the candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy mining equipment is essential.
• Preference for candidates with D11 dozers, large haul trucks and Hitachi excavators.

Responsibilities

• Service, repair and maintenance of heavy mining equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults quickly and effectively.
• Major component change-outs and gearbox overhauls.

HD Fitter/Mechanic - Peak Downs Mine Site $91.25/hr Flat Rate + $3/hr Performance Bonus

7/7 Lifestyle Roster | Camp Accommodation Provided We are currently seeking experienced Heavy Diesel Fitters/Mechanics to join a high-performing maintenance team at Peak Downs Mine Site, located approximately 200km from Mackay in the Bowen Basin.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established maintenance team working on some of the largest and most productive mining equipment in Australia.

About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the servicing, repair, maintenance and overhaul of a large mobile mining fleet, ensuring equipment reliability and availability targets are achieved.

Key responsibilities include:

• Diagnosing and troubleshooting faults quickly and effectively

Equipment Fleet You will be working across a range of large-scale mining equipment including:

• CAT 789C & 789D Haul Trucks


• CAT 793C & 793D Haul Trucks


• CAT 777F Water Carts


• CAT D9 & D11 Dozers


• CAT 854K Wheel Dozers


• CAT 988H Loaders


• CAT 16M, 18M & 24M Graders


• Hitachi EX3600 Excavators

Experience working on large mining equipment is essential, with particular interest in candidates who have worked on D11 dozers, large haul trucks and Hitachi excavators.

Site Travel Information This role is ideally suited to DIDO candidates. Employees are responsible for arranging and funding their own travel to and from site. Candidates may choose to drive in or fly into Mackay at their own expense and utilise available transport arrangements into site.

• Camp accommodation is provided


• A site bus operates between camp and the mine each day
