Job summary

A Basit Goraya Pty Ltd in Geelong, VIC is seeking a qualified Motor Mechanic (General) to diagnose, service, maintain and repair passenger and light vehicles in a busy workshop. The role requires a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology and at least 1 year of hands-on experience.

You will work 38 hours per week with a competitive annual salary and join a supportive team focused on quality workmanship and safety. Prior diagnostic software experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
• At least one year of practical experience as a Motor Mechanic.
• Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using computerised vehicle diagnostic and testing equipment.
• Ability to complete servicing and repairs independently in a workshop team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe, high-quality workmanship.
• Good communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults in engines, transmissions and vehicle systems using diagnostic equipment.
• Inspect and dismantle components, repair or replace parts, and test operation.
• Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance, including oil changes and filter replacements.
• Conduct road tests and final inspections to verify repairs and safety.
• Maintain accurate records of diagnoses, repairs, servicing and parts used.
