Job summary

Verra Mobility, a global leader in smart mobility, seeks a DevOps Engineer in South Melbourne to own production AWS infrastructure and Kubernetes workloads. You will advance CI/CD automation and contribute to platform modernisation across APAC.

You will bring 3+ years in DevOps/SRE, strong AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), Terraform/CloudFormation, scripting and security knowledge. Hybrid work is offered from South Melbourne.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in DevOps, Cloud Engineering or SRE.
• Hands-on AWS production experience.
• Practical Kubernetes experience, preferably EKS.
• IaC experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
• Scripting in Shell, Python or PowerShell.
• Understanding of networking, cloud security and IAM.
• Experience supporting SaaS platforms.
• Strong incident response and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Build, operate and improve AWS infrastructure across services including EKS, EC2, RDS, Lambda, IAM, S3 and Route 53.
• Manage Kubernetes workloads and the EKS platform lifecycle, including upgrades and deployments.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Bamboo.
• Develop and maintain IaC using Terraform, CloudFormation or similar.
• Monitor platform performance with New Relic, Prometheus and Grafana.
• Lead and support production incident response and root cause analysis.
• Contribute to platform reliability, automation and security initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering, product and support in an agile environment.
• Participate in the DevOps on-call roster for out-of-hours incidents.

Verra Mobility is a global leader in smart mobility, developing technology-driven solutions that help make transportation safer and more efficient. Our platforms support government, enforcement, tolling and commercial mobility customers across Australia, North America and Europe.

As we continue to expand and modernise our cloud platforms, we are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our SaaS Operations Support team in South Melbourne.

This is a hands-on role with genuine production ownership. You will operate and improve AWS-hosted SaaS platforms, strengthen automation and deployment capability, support Kubernetes environments and contribute to broader platform modernisation initiatives across APAC.

The role

As a DevOps Engineer at Verra Mobility, you will:

• Build, operate and improve AWS infrastructure across services including EKS, EC2, RDS, Lambda, IAM, S3 and Route 53.
• Manage Kubernetes workloads and the EKS platform lifecycle, including upgrades, deployments, troubleshooting and operational stability.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions and Bamboo.
• Develop and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation or similar technologies.
• Monitor platform performance and availability using New Relic, Prometheus and Grafana.
• Lead and support P1/P2 production incident response, root cause analysis and preventative actions.
• Contribute to platform reliability, automation, scalability, security and operational improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with engineering, product and support teams within an agile delivery environment.
• Participate in the DevOps on-call roster, providing out-of-hours support for critical production incidents.

What you bring

• 3+ years' experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering or a similar role.
• Strong hands-on AWS experience within production environments.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes, ideally Amazon EKS.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code capability using Terraform, CloudFormation or similar.
• Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
• Scripting capability using Shell, Python or PowerShell.
• A sound understanding of networking, cloud security, IAM and infrastructure fundamentals.
• Experience supporting highly available, customer-facing or SaaS platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work effectively during production incidents.

Experience with tools such as Git, GitHub Actions, Bamboo, Jira, SonarQube, Veracode, New Relic, Prometheus and Grafana will be well regarded.
