Job summary

Verra Mobility is a global leader in smart mobility; we seek a hands-on DevOps Engineer to own AWS-hosted SaaS platforms and support Kubernetes environments. The role offers production ownership and involvement in platform modernisation across APAC, with hybrid work from South Melbourne.

You will build, operate and improve infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and monitoring, while participating in on-call incident response and collaboration across engineering, product and support teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, SRE or similar.
• Strong hands-on AWS experience in production.
• Practical Kubernetes experience, ideally EKS.
• IaC capability with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
• Scripting with Shell, Python or PowerShell.
• Linux administration experience.
• Understanding of networking, cloud security, IAM, infra fundamentals.
• Experience supporting highly available SaaS platforms.
• Strong incident response and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Build, operate and improve AWS infrastructure across services (EKS, EC2, RDS, Lambda, IAM, S3, Route 53).
• Manage Kubernetes workloads and EKS lifecycle (upgrades, deployments, troubleshooting).
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Bamboo).
• Develop and maintain IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Monitor performance with New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Lead incident response (P1/P2) and preventive actions.
• Contribute to reliability, scalability, security, automation.
• Collaborate with engineering, product and support in agile delivery.
• Participate in on-call for out-of-hours incidents.

Our platforms support government, enforcement, tolling and commercial mobility customers across Australia, North America and Europe. DevOps Engineer to join our SaaS Operations Support team in South Melbourne. This is a hands-on role with genuine production ownership. You will operate and improve AWS-hosted SaaS platforms, strengthen automation and deployment capability, support Kubernetes environments and contribute to broader platform modernisation initiatives across APAC.

The role

As a DevOps Engineer At Verra Mobility, You Will

• Build, operate and improve AWS infrastructure across services including EKS, EC2, RDS, Lambda, IAM, S3 and Route 53.
• Manage Kubernetes workloads and the EKS platform lifecycle, including upgrades, deployments, troubleshooting and operational stability.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions and Bamboo.
• Develop and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation or similar technologies.
• Monitor platform performance and availability using New Relic, Prometheus and Grafana.
• Lead and support P1/P2 production incident response, root cause analysis and preventative actions.
• Contribute to platform reliability, automation, scalability, security and operational improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with engineering, product and support teams within an agile delivery environment.
• Participate in the DevOps on-call roster, providing out-of-hours support for critical production incidents.

What You Bring

• 3+ years' experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering or a similar role.
• Strong hands-on AWS experience within production environments.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes, ideally Amazon EKS.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code capability using Terraform, CloudFormation or similar.
• Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
• Scripting capability using Shell, Python or PowerShell.
• Linux administration experience.
• A sound understanding of networking, cloud security, IAM and infrastructure fundamentals.
• Experience supporting highly available, customer-facing or SaaS platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work effectively during production incidents.

Experience with tools such as Git, GitHub Actions, Bamboo, Jira, SonarQube, Veracode, New Relic, Prometheus and Grafana will be well regarded.
