Job summary

Bluefin Resources Pty is seeking an experienced DevOps engineer in Sydney to advance a Kubernetes-based gateway platform in a cloud-native environment. The role focuses on enhancing containerised environments, automating operations, and migrating from legacy reverse proxy to modern gateway architecture.

The ideal candidate will have expert EKS experience, strong API/web tech knowledge, and hands-on AWS/GCP skills to drive reliability and continuous improvement across the platform.

Qualifications

• Experience with DevOps on EKS and gateways.
• Strong knowledge of web and API technologies (REST, HTTP, cert management, API gateway concepts).
• Hands-on AWS (EC2, EKS, S3) and GCP (Compute, GKE) experience.
• Deep Kubernetes administration and operations expertise.
• Experience supporting API or service gateway platforms.
• Experience with Gloo Gateway or similar API gateway technologies.
• Strong knowledge of GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• Experience building, maintaining and improving CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent troubleshooting across cloud, Kubernetes, containerised apps.

A leading financial institute based in Sydney CBD is seeking an experience Devops engineer with expert EKS experience to work in a strategic, enterprise-scale cloud platform. You'll play a key role in the operation and continuous improvement of the bank's Kubernetes-based gateway platform. You will help modernise the platform as the organisation transitions away from legacy reverse proxy technologies to its strategic cloud-native gateway architecture. Leveraging modern web and API technologies, you will help drive automation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.
