Job summary

Leaders IT in Melbourne is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer for a permanent, Melbourne-based role. You will drive DevOps best practices across SNE, mentor the Ops and Engineering teams, and develop automation to improve products and services.

The role requires strong Linux/OpenShift know-how, automation skills (Python, shell), and hands-on experience with major DevOps tools. You will document processes, assess vendor/OSS tech, and contribute to the product infrastructure roadmap.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of Linux based environments.
• Must have hands-on experience on Redhat Openshift installation, configuration and maintenance.
• Automation skills with python, shell scripting, etc.
• Excellent knowledge of DevOps tools (Bamboo, Jira, BitBucket/GitLab, SonarQube, Coverity, Artifactory/Nexus).
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch, Couchbase or similar document-oriented databases.
• Knowledge of TLS, HTTPS, LDAPS preferred.
• Automation tools: Ansible, Chef, Puppet a plus.
• Big Data technologies knowledge preferred.
• Strong time management to meet project timelines.
• Ability to prioritise workload to optimise business results.
• Team collaboration and feedback receptiveness.
• Strategic thinking in technology solution development.
• Hands-on configuration familiarity.
• Effective communication with stakeholders.
• Ability to deliver to schedule under pressure.

• Excellent knowledge of working with DevOps tools such as – Bamboo, Jira, BitBucket/GitLab, SonarQube, Coverity, Artifactory/Nexus etc.
• Good knowledge on document-oriented databases like Elasticsearch, Couchbase etc.
• Knowledge on security protocols like TLS, HTTPS, LDAPS is preferred.
• Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, and Puppet etc. will also be looked upon favourably.
• Knowledge of Big Data technologies is preferred but not mandatory.
• Excellent time management skills to meet the required project timeframes
• Able to manage and prioritise workload to optimise business results
• Able to work as part of a tight‑knit team, taking on feedback
