Job summary

Viable Solutions Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead cloud-native delivery across multiple client environments. You will design and implement CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and safeguard production systems with a focus on reliability and scalability.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in agile settings, applying best practices in security, automation, and system optimizations, while staying current with evolving cloud technologies and tooling.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years of Cloud and DevOps experience with AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Hands-on experience in Docker, Kubernetes & Rancher.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD concepts and real-world application.
• Experience with API Gateways, Security Groups, Jenkins.
• Core AWS services (EC2, S3, Fargate, etc.), Terraform, GCP, AWS, Azure, GitHub Actions, Python scripting.

Job Description

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will bring a cross-disciplinary skill set that spans the cloud, development, operations, continuous delivery, data, and security. For this role, you’ll need a deep understanding and experience in continuous integration and continuous delivery (CICCD) theory, concepts and real-world application. You need to be experienced with CI/CD tools and systems, and understand their setup, so you can integrate them to create fully functioning, cohesive delivery pipelines and commit, merge, build, test, package, and deploy code.

Work within agile software delivery teams on customer sites. Help our clients maintain and run reliable applications and systems. Promote sound software engineering and DevOps practices.

Apply best practices to security in everything you do. Keep your skills up to date and always be looking for continuous improvement. Exploration and innovation - understand client workflows, including strengths and weaknesses, to identify new tech/solutions/improvements to make processes more efficient.

Develop documentation as good as the solutions you create. Use automation and testing to make systems not only fast but also reliable and repeatable. Qualifications and Education Requirements.

A minimum of 10 years of Cloud and DevOps Experience with AWS, GCP or Azure. Hands-on experience in (expert level) Docker, Kubernetes & Rancher.

API Gateways. Security Groups. Jenkins.

Core AWS (CloudFormation, EC2, S3, Fargate, etc.) Terraform, Bitbucket, GCP, AWS, Azure, CICD process, Github Actions, Python scripting, Docker and Kubernetes CI/CD.

Bash Scripting. Python. Good shell scripting experience.

Experience managing messaging applications and configuring them, e.g. IBM MQ, Kafka. Good understanding of networking concepts. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise workloads under pressure and meet deadlines. A self-starter who is hands-on and knows how to find answers and work with ambiguity. Values-driven and practical in your approach.

Salary Range: 135,000 to 145, 000 including super per annum in AUD
