Job summary

Frontier Software seeks a Development Platform Lead to steer our global DevOps function, delivering secure, scalable and automated software delivery across the organisation. This is a hands-on leadership role that shapes DevOps strategy and champions engineering excellence.

You will support a global Engineering team of around 150 developers while leading a small DevOps group across Melbourne and Manila, partnering with other teams to improve CI/CD, platforms and DevSecOps practices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or similar software delivery.
• Ability to convert complex environments into practical roadmaps and lead technical teams.
• Strong expertise in Azure, CI/CD, IaC and cloud-native tech (Terraform, Kubernetes/AKS); PowerShell or Python.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills across multiple teams.
• Pragmatic, curious approach to solving problems and improving engineering practices.

Job description

We're seeking a Development Platform Lead to lead our global DevOps function and drive the delivery of secure, scalable and automated software delivery across the organisation. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll shape DevOps strategy and champion engineering excellence across the organisation.

In this role you will support a global Engineering team of around 150 developers while leading a small DevOps team across Melbourne and Manila. You will partner with other development teams and leaders to improve CI/CD capabilities, developer platforms, and DevSecOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the DevOps strategy, roadmap, and annual improvement initiatives.
• Lead and develop a small global DevOps team.
• Work hands‑on with platforms, pipelines and tooling, identifying opportunities to simplify and improve.

About You

You are a technically strong DevOps or Platform Engineering leader who can balance strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery. You have a passion for coaching teams, improving engineering practices, and building secure, scalable development platforms.

You’ll bring:

• 7+ years' experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or a similar software delivery environment.
• The ability to understand complex environments, identify opportunities and turn them into a practical roadmap as well as proven experience leading and developing technical teams.
• Strong expertise in Azure, CI/CD, infrastructure as code and cloud-native technologies such as Terraform and Kubernetes/AKS, plus PowerShell or Python. Exposure to AWS environments would be a bonus.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills particularly across teams that you not directly manage.
• A pragmatic, curious approach to solving problems and improving engineering practices.
