Job summary

Townsville City Council is seeking a permanent full-time planning professional to assess development applications and provide planning advice across a collaborative team. You will contribute to decisions that support responsible growth and vibrant communities, liaising with applicants and stakeholders to deliver high-quality reports and outcomes.

You will work in a multidisciplinary environment, advance planning solutions, and uphold excellent customer service across the council’s planning

Qualifications

• Qualifications in planning, local government, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of planning legislation, development assessment processes, and relevant regulations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Customer-focused approach with sound problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience preparing clear, accurate documentation and reports.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office and business systems.
• Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
• Current Queensland C Class Driver Licence.
