The Living Company in Sydney CBD is seeking a Development Manager to lead front-end delivery of mixed-use retirement living and PBSA/BTR projects. You will work across development, design, construction and ESG, representing TLC with authorities and partners to deliver high-quality living environments.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years' experience in Property, Architecture, Construction
• Experience delivering large-scale residential developments in Australia
• Proven track record delivering complex projects on time and within budget
• Deep understanding of the property development lifecycle from planning and design through to construction and operations
• Strong financial acumen, with budgeting and financial reporting experience
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Representing TLC with planning authorities, joint venture partners and external consultants

• Leading contract negotiations and tender processes, working closely with the Construction team to select top-tier partners
• Preparing project reports, tracking budgets and costs, and keeping stakeholders and the management board informed

THE ROLE

As Development Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering mixed-use development projects, initially focused on Retirement Living (RL), with opportunities to support the wider portfolio across Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) and Build-to-Rent (BTR). You'll help drive planning and acquisition outcomes aligned with strategic and sustainability objectives, contributing to the delivery of high-quality, best-in-class living environments.

You'll manage the front-end delivery of complex, large-scale projects, working across development, design, construction and ESG, while representing TLC with authorities, joint venture partners and external consultants.

Day-to-day you will be (but not limited to):

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• 5-8+ years' experience in Property, Architecture, Construction or a related discipline
• Demonstrated experience contributing to and managing large-scale residential development projects in Australia
• Significant experience in property development or construction in Australia
• Proven track record delivering complex projects on time and within budget
• Deep understanding of the property development lifecycle, from planning and design through to construction and operations
• Strong financial acumen, with experience in budget management and financial reporting
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse teams
