Job summary

OneStop is seeking a Development Manager to join on an initial 12-month fixed term contract with a view to permanent. You will strategise team goals with the CTO, ensure product portfolio performance, and mentor software developers.

You will drive technical initiatives, maintain engineering excellence, and collaborate with senior management to align product and engineering objectives. This role supports an ultra-hybrid model with Sydney-based work.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science.
• Experience leading and mentoring software developers.
• Strong people and technology leadership abilities.
• Hands-on with seniority to engage technically.
• Experience designing/building large-scale enterprise software.
• Cross-functional skills with product and DevOps mindset.
• Experience building high-performing teams in fast-paced AI-driven environments.
• Experience with AI tooling (Claude Code, Copilot).
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

The opportunity at OneStop

We are searching for a Development Manager to join our team on an initial 12-month fixed term contract, with a view to be made permanent. As a Development Manager you will work closely with the Chief Technology Officer to strategise development team goals, ensure that the new and existing products in your portfolio perform effectively and act as the liaison between your team and senior management. Using a combination of technical know-how and leadership skills, your primary responsibility will be to motivate, guide and mentor the software developers within your team.

In this role of Development Manager you will

• Lead, motivate and mentor software developers, providing strong communication, leadership and engineering practices.
• Foster a safe, transparent working environment where ideas and a continuous improvement mindset are encouraged.
• Provide technical leadership throughout the entire development lifecycle, including the design, architecture, quality assurance, deployment and troubleshooting of software solutions.
• Be an agent for change by driving technical initiatives and process improvements.
• Enhance and maintain engineering excellence, upholding best practices regarding software development standards, compliance and security initiatives.
• Manage internal and external stakeholder expectations by collaborating with them on product goals, objectives, and strategies.
• Contribute to product planning, ensuring alignment between engineering and product objectives.
• Conduct ongoing risk analyses and identify mitigation methods.
• Communicate and collaborate cross functionally, as well as vertically.

What we’re looking for?

You will have:

• A degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science.
• Experience leading and mentoring a team of software developers.
• Passionate about people and technology leadership.
• Ability to remain hands and engage technically with team members at all levels of seniority.
• Experience designing and building large scale, enterprise software solutions.
• Strong cross functional skills, particularly a product and DevOps mindset.
• Experience cultivating high-performing teams within a fast-paced environment shaped by AI adoption and evolving ways of working.
• Experience with AI tooling like Claude Code and or Gitthub Copilot.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, internally or externally.

Ideally, you will also have:

• Experience working with Angular, .NET, NodeJs,
• Experience with Cloud platforms, ideally AWS services.
