Job summary

TasPorts is seeking an experienced Development Coordinator to manage the interface between TasPorts operations, TasPorts Projects and the Macquarie Point redevelopment program in Hobart. This role ensures obligations, risks and governance are proactively managed and supports timely decision making to protect TasPorts' interests.

Reporting to the Commercial Development Lead, you will coordinate governance meetings, prepare papers and maintain action, risk and decision registers across MPDC

Qualifications

  • Qualification in Project or Construction Management, Business, Governance, Planning, Property or related discipline.
  • Experience of infrastructure projects, across a range of areas
  • Current drivers' licence
  • Ability to acquire and hold a Marine Security Identification Card (MSIC) card

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary interface between TasPorts and agencies undertaking major works on MPDC.
  • Coordinate governance meetings, workshops and stakeholder forums with TasPorts, MPDC and other agencies.
  • Prepare agendas, meeting papers, briefing materials and stakeholder communications.
  • Take minutes, maintain action registers and monitor completion of actions.
  • Maintain decision, issue and commitment registers related to Macquarie Point matters.
  • Develop, maintain and monitor interface risk registers and mitigation actions.
  • Coordinate review and response to documentation from Macquarie Point planning and approval processes.
  • Facilitate engagement between TasPorts departments including Planning, Major Projects, Property, Operations, Commercial and Executive.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and capable Development Coordinator to provide dedicated coordination of the interface between TasPorts ongoing operations, TasPorts Projects and the developments being undertaken Macquarie Point Development Corporation (MPDC), ensuring obligations, risks, stakeholder relationships and governance requirements are proactively managed throughout the Macquarie Point redevelopment program. The role establishes a single point of coordination to support timely decision making, effective communication and protection of TasPorts operational, commercial and strategic interests.

Reporting to the Commercial Development Lead you should possess the skills and abilities to undertake a high level of administrative and technical expertise in, project management and contract administration.

This is a full‑time, fixed‑term (24-month) contract based in Hobart.

Key Duties include:
  • Act as the primary point of contact between TasPorts and agencies undertaking major works associated with the Macquarie Point Development Program. This includes MPDC, TasWater and Building Tasmania.

  • Coordinate governance meetings, workshops and stakeholder forums involving TasPorts, MPDC and other agencies as required.

  • Prepare agendas, meeting papers, briefing materials and stakeholder communications.

  • Take minutes, maintain action registers and monitor completion of agreed actions.

  • Maintain decision, issue and commitment registers associated with Macquarie Point matters.

  • Develop, maintain and monitor interface risk registers and mitigation actions.

  • Coordinate review and response to documentation received under the Macquarie Point planning and approval processes.

  • Facilitate engagement between TasPorts departments including Planning and Development, Major Projects, Property, Operations, Commercial and Executive stakeholders.

What you can bring to the team:
  • Experience coordinating projects, programs or complex stakeholder interfaces.

  • Experience supporting governance forums, committees or working groups.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage action registers, risk registers and reporting frameworks.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.

  • Highly developed planning, organisation and time management skills.

  • Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and meet demanding timeframes.

  • Ability to understand construction staging plans and work collaboratively to minimise impact on operational areas.

  • Experience within infrastructure, ports, planning, property, development or major projects environments is desirable.

Qualifications/Licences:
  • Qualification in Project or Construction Management, Business, Governance, Planning, Property or related discipline.

  • Current drivers' licence

  • Ability to acquire and hold a Marine Security Identification Card (MSIC) card
