Job summary

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council is seeking an experienced Development Assessment Planner to join an expert team shaping the Mid North Coast. You will undertake development assessment, provide planning advice, and engage with developers, government agencies and the community to deliver high-quality planning outcomes that support sustainable growth.

Recent experience in development assessment within a local government context.
Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation and processes.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

Assess and determine a wide range of Development Applications in accordance with the Act and regulations.
Respond to general enquiries and participate in Duty Planner activities.
Attend pre-lodgement and Development Assessment Panel meetings.
Contribute to business improvement initiatives and service delivery.
Collaborate with government agencies to support project outcomes.
