Job summary

DRA Global is seeking an experienced Structural Designer to join our Brisbane team to contribute to mining and minerals processing projects. You will produce detailed drawings and 3D models, working closely with engineers, project managers and stakeholders to deliver design packages.

The role requires 3+ years of detailed design experience and proficiency with AutoCAD, Advanced Steel, MicroStation and OpenBuildings. A Certificate III in Engineering is desirable.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in engineering detailed design.
• Experience in resources, mining, infrastructure or industrial projects is desirable.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Advanced Steel, MicroStation and OpenBuildings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed structural drawings and 3D models using approved CAD platforms.
• Ensure designs comply with codes, standards and project specifications.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical input to project teams.
• Conduct quality checks on design deliverables prior to issue.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers and stakeholders to develop practical solutions.
• Maintain drawing registers, revisions and project documentation.
• Monitor assigned work to meet project schedules and client expectations.
• Demonstrate a high standard of personal safety and safe design practices.

About The Role

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Structural Designer to join our established team based in Brisbane.

Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment, you will contribute to the delivery of structural design packages across a diverse portfolio of mining and minerals processing projects. You will play a key role in producing detailed drawings and models while working closely with engineers, project managers and stakeholders.

Key Duties

• Prepare detailed structural drawings and 3D models using approved CAD platforms.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards and project specifications.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical input to project teams.

You Will Have

• Certificate III in Engineering desirable.
• Approximately 3+ years' experience within an engineering detailed design environment.
• Experience in resources, mining, infrastructure or industrial projects highly regarded.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Advanced Steel, MicroStation, OpenBuildings and related design platforms.
• Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes.
