Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management & Economics, Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Proven experience in the commercial construction sector on head contractor projects.
• Strong leadership and relationship-building capabilities with clients and design teams.

Responsibilities

I've partnered with a national head contractor with an excellent reputation in the market spanning over 60 years of proven success delivering projects up to $300m+, specialising in the commercial project market. My client has already had a successful 2026 and gearing up for a busy start to 2027 with work secured until 2030.

They operate across a range of delivering methods, with D&C being a big focus, they are looking for someone with proven experience within the Commercial construction industry. Project sectors include industrial, government, residential towers, education, health, retail, fit out and more.

My client is a looking for an experienced Design Manager / Senior Design Manager to join their Brisbane team due to recent project wins and growth. Central Brisbane office location.

Ideal traits the successful candidate will have:

• 5 - 15 + years of experience in the role.
• Head contractor side commercial project experience (A MUST!)
• Leadership - enjoys mentoring and teaching others.
• Excellent ability to build rapport with others.
• Strong past tenure with employers.

Your Requirements:

• Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management & Economics, Quantity Surveying or equivalent are preferred
• Excellent communication & relationship building skills with various stakeholders (clients, architects, consultants, subcontractors etc.)
• Local experience and relationships with consultants and subcontractors
• Ideally 5 - 15 years in a similar role and industry experience running your own projects between $50m - $300m+
