The current larger projects are developer builder on townhouse, apartments as well as some commercial projects too.
Our client is a growing developer builder who also undertake client-side consultancy project management work. They are seeking an experienced Development Manager / Project Manager to work on a mix of exciting new projects including new build apartment, townhouse as well as commercial projects in the Brisbane City Fringe. Projects will be from smaller up to $20m to $30m build cost with GDV up to $60m at the moment.
This is a senior role with responsibility in the business across the complete development lifecycle, including site selection, acquisition, feasibility, planning, design management, approvals, funding, procurement, construction, sales, settlement and completion.
The role will have a strong focus on development management, while also providing oversight across construction project management and commercial management. Projects include residential townhouses and apartments, as well as commercial new builds and fitout across health, education, retail, technology, industrial, hospitality, government and corporate sectors.
The successful candidate will ideally have strong construction and development experience, with the ability to understand feasibility, design, approvals, construction delivery and commercial outcomes. You will be expected to progressively take ownership of projects and develop systems, processes and reporting frameworks as the business continues to grow.

Years of experience: 10-15 years +
Bachelor qualification in Construction Management, Project Management or Business Administration would be preferred 10 - 15 years' experience in construction project management, contracts administration, development management or client-side project management within the construction or property development industry Certificate IV / Diploma in Construction Management, Project Management or Business Administration Strong experience across property development and the construction lifecycle Experience managing projects from acquisition and feasibility through to completion would be highly advantageous Experience with residential townhouses, apartments and/or commercial construction projects Strong commercial management and financial reporting skills Strong understanding of development approvals, planning, design management and construction delivery Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Experience with project management and accounting software such as Buildertrend, Xero, Dext, Aconex or Sign On Site would be advantageous Excellent verbal and written communication skills Forward-thinking, commercially minded and strong problem-solving ability Professional presentation and confidence communicating with clients, consultants, authorities and other stakeholders Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with Directors and project teams
