Job summary

LEVEL 33 is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead the end-to-end design lifecycle for high-end residential and mixed-use developments. You will drive value engineering, coordinate consultants, and ensure design quality, budget alignment, and timely sign-offs.

This role requires strong knowledge of the BCA, Australian Standards, NSW planning controls, and exposure to design reviews within a collaborative builder-developer environment that rewards initiative and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent.
• 3–5 years’ experience in a Design Manager role (residential/mixed-use preferred).
• Strong knowledge of BCA, Australian Standards, and NSW planning controls.
• Understanding of exempt and complying development pathways.
• Proven ability to coordinate consultants and liaise with authorities.
• Strong technical documentation and design coordination capability.
• Excellent attention to detail with a passion for high-quality finishes.
• Proactive, confident, and able to show initiative.
• Strong organisational skills to meet key program milestones.

Responsibilities

• Value engineering/management and project management of the whole design process.
• Managing relationships with consultants/architects and the performance of external consultants.
• Coordinate design activities to ensure the achievement of quality, completion and design budget objectives.
• Manage the process of milestone design reviews, including ensuring that client sign-off is achieved and recorded at appropriate stages.
• Managing design in accordance with cost plans and construction programmes and monitor the quality throughout construction process.
