Zenith Search on the Gold Coast seeks a Design Manager to own the design delivery from development through construction documentation for landmark high-rise residential projects.

Lead consultant teams and coordinate design to ensure documentation is construction-ready, while resolving issues to maintain programme. This hands-on role drives two major developments, with a structured growth path in a company delivering $2B+ in projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Design Manager within a commercial building contractor or builder-developer.

An established builder-developer, who have been operating for 50+ years, is looking to appoint a Design Manager to join their team on the Gold Coast, overseeing the design delivery of major high-rise residential developments.

With a current project pipeline exceeding $2B, this is an opportunity to join a business entering an exciting period of expansion, with two major projects kicking off and the successful candidate taking a lead role in one of these developments.

This is a hands-on position suited to a Design Manager who can take ownership of the design process, drive consultant coordination and ensure projects progress efficiently from design development through to construction documentation.

The Role

• Lead the design process on major high-rise residential developments valued at approximately at $350M.

• Lead consultant teams, coordinating architectural, structural and building services design to ensure documentation is coordinated and construction-ready.

• Work closely with internal construction and project delivery teams to resolve design issues and maintain project programme.

• Oversee design deliverables, identify potential risks and drive solutions to keep projects moving.

• Take a leading role in the mobilisation and delivery of two upcoming major developments.

About You

• Proven experience as a Design Manager within a commercial building contractor or builder-developer.

• Demonstrated experience managing the design process on high-rise residential projects.

• Able to independently lead design delivery, coordinate consultants and drive documentation through to construction.

• Strong understanding of the practical requirements of construction and the ability to identify and resolve design issues before they impact site delivery.

• Confident managing multiple stakeholders, consultants and competing project deadlines.

• Commercially minded, proactive and comfortable taking ownership from day one.
