Job summary

Trifecta Recruitment is seeking a Design Manager for our Geelong office to lead the design process across commercial projects, from pre-construction through delivery. You will coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure timely, accurate documentation and alignment with project requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Design Manager or similar role within commercial construction.
• Commercial construction experience across new build, fitout or refurbishment projects.
• Strong knowledge of design development, construction documentation and consultant coordination.
• Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• Qualifications in Architecture, Construction Management, or Design preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design process across commercial projects from pre-construction to delivery.

• Review drawings and documentation, identifying design issues and driving timely resolution of RFIs, clashes and design changes.
• Work closely with Project Managers and Site Managers to ensure designs are practical, buildable and aligned with project requirements.
• Lead design meetings and manage design deliverables and maintain communication across all stakeholders.

Trifecta Recruitment have partnered with a highly regarded Commercial builder who deliver a diverse range of fitout, refurbishment and new build projects across multiple sectors up to $50M. With an established presence in the Geelong market and a strong pipeline of work secured, they are continuing to grow their local team.

With a number of exciting projects either underway or due to commence shortly, they are now looking to appoint a Design Manager to join their Geelong office and play a key role in the successful delivery of their projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing division of a national builder, where you will work closely with senior leadership and project teams across the full design and construction process.

Your New Role

• Manage and coordinate the design process across a range of commercial projects from pre-construction through to delivery.
• Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams to ensure design documentation is delivered accurately and on programme.
• Review drawings and documentation, identifying design issues and driving timely resolution of RFIs, clashes and design changes.
• Work closely with Project Managers and Site Managers to ensure designs are practical, buildable and aligned with project requirements.
• Lead design meetings, manage design deliverables and maintain strong communication across all project stakeholders.

What You Need To Succeed

• Experience in a Design Manager, Design Coordinator, Assistant Design Manager, or similar role within commercial construction.
• Commercial construction experience across new build, fitout or refurbishment projects.
• Strong understanding of design development, construction documentation and consultant coordination.
• Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant qualifications in Architecture, Construction Management, Design or similar will be highly regarded.
