Job summary

Evoke Recruitment is seeking a senior Design Manager for a civil engineering consultancy with 40 years’ experience in residential, industrial and mixed-use land development. The role focuses on leading the civil design team and delivering high-quality design packages for projects across Victoria and Queensland.

The successful candidate will drive design excellence, manage multiple projects, ensure regulatory compliance, and liaise with clients to meet deadlines and expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
• NER Registered as a professional engineer.
• 10+ years of experience in land development and sewer/water reticulation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the civil design team across residential land development, industrial and mid-density projects.
• Uphold quality standards and ensure on-time delivery and client satisfaction.
• Oversee delivery of civil design services including land development, infrastructure, and reticulation works.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate stormwater, WSUD, modelling interfaces and regulatory requirements.

Job description

Our client, a progressive and well-respected civil engineering consultancy group known for the provision of land capability studies, storm water management, design development, project management and construction management within the land development industry, are seeking a senior design urban development professional to take on the role of Design Manager for the Group across Victoria and Queensland.

The mandate for this position is to support delivery of their civil design services, uphold quality standards and lead the team to meet project deadlines and client expectations.

The Design Manager will lead and manage their civil design team specialising in residential land development, industrial developments, medium density developments, infrastructure projects, sewer and water reticulations and associated civil design.

Reporting to the MD, this role is based around the suburb of Glen Waverley, Melbourne.

The must-haves about you:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent; NER Registered.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in land development and sewer/water reticulation.
• Proven track record in leading design teams.
• Proficient technical competency in land development and infrastructure design.
• Ability to manage multiple Projects concurrently.
• Experience with stormwater, WSUD, modelling and urban design interfaces.
• Victorian regulatory framework and utility requirements.
• Experience with 12d modelling and modern design workflows.
