Job summary

Coliban Water is recruiting a Project Engineer - Design to join our Design and Delivery team in the Bendigo region. You will lead engineering design packages for the Rural Water Efficiency Project, coordinating consultants and suppliers while managing budgets and schedules.

The role requires tertiary engineering qualifications and proven design delivery experience in water or civil infrastructure, plus strong project management skills and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental or related Engineering discipline.
• Experience delivering engineering design projects, ideally within water/utilities/civil infrastructure.
• Strong project management and contractor management experience.
• Knowledge of hydraulic design and water infrastructure principles (advantageous).
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• A current Victorian Driver Licence (or ability to obtain one).
• Membership with Engineers Australia or the Australian Institute of Project Management is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Manage the delivery of engineering design packages for the Rural Water Efficiency Project.
• Coordinate external engineering consultants and technical specialists.
• Support hydraulic modelling and engineering design activities.
• Prepare project briefs, technical specifications, tender documentation and project plans.
• Manage project budgets, schedules and contractor performance.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, legislation and organisational requirements.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, government agencies and customers.
• Monitor project performance and provide regular reporting on progress, risks and outcomes.
