Job summary

Ventia is hiring a Project Engineer to lead end-to-end delivery of civil, mechanical and electrical capital works for water infrastructure projects with Yarra Valley Water. You will oversee planning, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery and high quality standards.

The role offers exposure to a diverse portfolio across water networks, civil works and equipment installations, with a supportive team and opportunities for career progression

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in project engineering, construction or infrastructure delivery.
• Experience working within water, utilities, construction or related infrastructure sectors.
• Strong understanding of civil, mechanical and/or electrical engineering principles.
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors, budgets and project schedules.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• A proactive approach to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Brownfield infrastructure modifications and renewals.

Responsibilities

• Project Delivery (end to end) – lead project mobilisation, planning and scheduling activities, coordinate civil, mechanical and electrical works, monitor progress, prepare forecasts, reports and performance updates.
• Engineering & Technical Leadership – provide input into construction methodologies, sequencing, queries, defects and constructability reviews.
• Commercial & Contract Management – monitor budgets, forecasts, cost performances, variations, claims and scopes of change, coordination of procurement and subcontractor performance.
• Safety & Quality – lead safety, site audits and safety observations, ensure compliance to designs and maintain quality documentation.
