Triple M Tray Bodies on the Gold Coast is seeking a seasoned Design Engineer to join the Design & Development team. You will design automotive accessories for ute and truck markets, coordinate with customers, suppliers and production to implement new developments.

Requires 5–10 years in design/process engineering within automotive manufacturing, plus proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Experience with PPAP, QMS, DFMEA/PFMEA, CAD admin, BOMs and data analysis is essential.

Qualificações

• 5–10+ years in Design/Process Engineering
• Experience in automotive manufacturing environments
• PPAP, QMS, DFMEA, PFMEA, PSW documentation experience
• Materials knowledge: aluminium, sheet metal, weldments, plastics
• PDM Administration experience
• FEA using SolidWorks Professional
• ADR/VSB/NVHR regulations knowledge
• Advanced MS Excel and databases
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to travel interstate for project needs
• Available for 8:00–17:00, Mon–Fri, 40–45 hrs/week

THE ROLE:

Reporting directly to the Design & Development Manager, the successful candidate will be an accomplished and professional Design and Process Engineer. This individual will also work closely with company Management and other Key Staff Members as an integral part of the Design & Development Team. The successful candidate will be a proactive and visible figure in our workplace, providing high-level advice and assistance in:

• Design and development of automotive accessories for the Ute and truck body markets.
• Creation, editing and maintenance of CAD/Drawings in SolidworksandAutoCADprograms.
• Close liaising with Key Customers, vehicle manufacturers, suppliers and our company's Production team to ensure new developments, enhancements and refinements are implemented seamlessly.
• Developing and maintaining CAD Administrationsystems.
• Creating and maintaining company Bills of Materialinformation and data trees.
• Desktop publishing assignments, central to the Design team's efforts to enhance the presentation of company products.
• Creating and maintaining fitting instructions for company products.
• Design verification to comply with applicable Australian Design Rules, manufacturer's Body Builder Guidelines and other regulatory requirements.
• Structural assessments using FEA / CAE Analysistools.
• Extracting and analysing bulk data for business improvement activities.

WHAT WE'RE SEEKING:

• Recent and verifiable work experience (at minimum 5-10 years) in a comparableDesign/Process Engineerrole.Previous experience inautomotivemanufacturingenvironments will be highly regarded.
• Verifiable experience in preparingPPAP, QMS, DFMEA, PFMEA, PSWdocumentation, product development and testing procedures will also be highly regarded.
• Verifiable experience with designing products of different materials, such as aluminium (extrusions & castings), sheet metal development, weldments, and plastics (injection/extrusion/blow/rotation moulding) will also be highly regarded.
• Verifiable experience and conversance inPDMAdministration.
• Previous experience withFEA AnalysisusingSolidworks Professional.
• A developed knowledge base and conversance withADR, VSB, NVHRlaws and regulations.
• High level MS Excel and other database software skills.
• Outstandingcommunicationand team collaboration skills, with particular focus on building open, positive stakeholder relationships.
• A willingness to travel interstate occasionally for short periods, to satisfy key project requirements.
• Candidates must be available for work Monday to Friday, between8:00am to 5:00pm.General hours for the position will be between 40-45 each week - times may be negotiated to some extent with the Design and Development Manager.
