Job summary

Martin Metal Works Pty Ltd in Longwarry, VIC, is seeking an experienced Draftsperson to join our team. The role focuses on creating 3D models and detailed drawings using Autodesk Inventor for plant upgrades and fabricated equipment.

Martin Metal Works is a family-owned fabrication and installation business working across quarry, concrete and industrial plant projects. We’re looking for an experienced Draftsperson to join our team in Longwarry.

This is a varied drafting role covering structural and mechanical projects. You’ll need to be confident managing your own work while working closely with our workshop, site teams and clients.

The role

Create 3D models and detailed drawings using Autodesk Inventor.

Develop drawings for plant upgrades, conveyors, bins, chutes, platforms and other fabricated equipment.

Work from engineering drawings, project requirements and site information.

Prepare clear drawings and material information for fabrication and installation.

Work with the workshop and site teams to resolve practical design and fit-up issues.

Manage drawing revisions and meet project deadlines.

What we’re looking for

Strong, proven experience with Autodesk Inventor.

Experience drafting structural or mechanical projects, ideally for industrial plant or fabrication.

Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects and solve problems.

Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate with tradespeople, project managers and clients.

Good attention to detail and an understanding of how drawings translate into fabricated work.

Ability to attend site and take accurate measurements would be a bonus.
