Job summary

City of Adelaide Design Drafter is a full-time, permanent role based in Adelaide. The role will provide professional input into the technical design, development, implementation and monitoring of a range of projects aligned with the City’s Strategic Plan.

Key responsibilities include drafting, documentation, and QA across infrastructure initiatives such as streetscape upgrades, bikeways, and stormwater works. A starting salary of AU$109,361 plus 12% superannuation applies.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated technical knowledge of civil engineering and drafting in civil/infrastructure.
• Proficiency in 12D modelling or Civil 3D.
• High proficiency in AutoCAD and producing accurate design drawings.
• Manual design and drafting skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of Australian drafting standards and building construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional input into technical design, development, implementation and monitoring of infrastructure projects.
• Contribute to delivery and documentation to meet highest industry standards and statutory regulations.
• Support the Infrastructure Program teams with design and drafting tasks.
• Assist with quality assurance and coordination across project stages.

As part of the Infrastructure Program the Design Drafter will provide professional advice and input into the technical design, development, implementation and monitoring of a range of projects and proposals that contribute to achieving the City of Adelaide's Strategic Plan outcomes.

Some of the projects we are currently working on are:

• School Safety and pedestrian safety program
• Streetscape and laneway upgrades
• City and Park Lands Bikeways
• Park Lands upgrade projects
• Major Stormwater upgrade and renewal projects.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Demonstrated technical knowledge of civil engineering and experience in designing / drafting in the civil and infrastructure field.
• Proficiency in 12D modelling programs or Civil 3D.
• High proficiency in AutoCAD and technical ability to produce accurate design drawings.
• Manual design and drafting skills.
• Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of Australian drafting standards, building construction, practices and techniques.
• Experience in the delivery of design, documentation and quality assurance to meet highest industry standards and statutory regulations.
