Job summary

Life Without Barriers Education in NSW seeks a Deputy Principal to lead teaching and learning, strengthen trauma-informed practice, and foster a safe, inclusive school culture across multiple campuses.

Working with the Principal and National Education team, you will guide curriculum planning, staff development, and student support to re-engage young people and support transitions into further education, employment and community participation.

Qualifications

• Current NESA accreditation or ability to meet accreditation requirements.
• Experience in educational leadership, including staff supervision and coaching.
• Proven ability to lead curriculum planning, assessment and quality improvement.
• Experience supporting disengaged or at-risk students, including trauma-informed approaches.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of the Life Without Barriers Education Teaching and Learning model, ensuring engaging, differentiated and curriculum-aligned learning experiences that support positive student outcomes.
• Embed CARE and Ways of Working to foster a trauma-informed, culturally responsive school culture.
• Guide curriculum planning, assessment, QA and moderation processes including learning plans and NCCD requirements.
• Lead staff supervision, coaching, reflective practice and professional development to strengthen teaching capability.
• Support staff to apply therapeutic practices and respond to behaviours of concern with positive relationships with students and families.
• Oversee teaching records, reporting, compliance and smooth transitions into further education, employment and community participation.
