Bayside Health in Melbourne seeks a Deputy Director, Payroll Services to lead payroll operations for the Alfred Care Group. You will oversee a team of four, ensure accurate, compliant pay, and drive service delivery improvements.

Reporting to the Director, HRIS, Payroll and Shared Services, you will manage governance, risk, and industrial changes, partnering with Finance, People & Culture, HRIS and operations.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading payroll services in a large, regulated health environment.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and governance frameworks.
• Experience managing payroll risk, compliance and audits.
• Proven ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders.
• Experience implementing payroll impacts from Enterprise Agreements and organisational change.
• Exceptional communication, leadership and problem-solving abilities.

The Department

Bayside Health is seeking an exceptional payroll leader to join our Finance leadership team as Deputy Director, Payroll Services - Alfred Care Group. This is a rare opportunity to lead payroll operations for one of Australia's most complex and dynamic healthcare environments, supporting thousands of employees across the renowned Alfred Care Group. As the senior payroll authority for the Care Group, you will drive accurate, compliant and sustainable payroll outcomes while leading a high-performing team and shaping the future of payroll service delivery within Bayside Health.

The Role

Reporting to the Director, HRIS, Payroll and Shared Services, Bayside Health, you will have end-to-end accountability for delivering payroll services across the Alfred Care Group. Leading a team of four direct reports, you will oversee payroll operations, governance, compliance, risk management, industrial change implementation and continuous improvement initiatives.

We are seeking a strategic and operational leader who brings:

• Extensive experience leading payroll services within a large, complex and highly regulated environment
• Strong knowledge of industrial instruments, payroll legislation and governance frameworks
• Demonstrated experience managing payroll risk, compliance and audit activities
• Proven ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders
• Experience implementing payroll impacts arising from Enterprise Agreements and organisational change
• Exceptional communication, leadership and problem-solving capabilities
