Job summary

NSW Health in NSLHD is seeking a Deputy Director of Aboriginal Health to lead excellence and shape outcomes across Aboriginal health in NSLHD. Based at Royal North Shore, you will support the Executive Director and drive strategy, governance and policy alignment.

The role requires Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent, tertiary health qualifications, and a track record in Aboriginal health management, data-driven planning, and program delivery to close gaps in care.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in a health-related field and/or equivalent experience working in health management roles.
• Demonstrated Aboriginal Health management experience with high level ability to use data/evidence to inform planning, development, monitoring and evaluation of Aboriginal Health initiatives and strategies that improve Aboriginal Health models of care and organization performance.
• Demonstrated knowledge of legislative and policy frameworks for health policy issues affecting Aboriginal people, families and communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and advice to the Executive Director, Aboriginal Health and Workforce to influence strategic direction.
• Support governance functions and operational oversight of the NSLHD Aboriginal Health Service.
• Lead collaboration and project management activities for initiatives within the NSLHD Aboriginal Health Service.
• Review, progress, and oversee all NSLHD Aboriginal Health Impact Statements through endorsement by the Executive Director.
• Embed culturally safe practices across NSLHD with directorates and facility leadership teams.
