Job summary

Busways is seeking a Yard Assistant (Maintenance) at our Blacktown Depot to support mechanical tradespeople and a busy workshop. You’ll help keep the fleet in top condition, perform yard upkeep, and assist with parts deliveries and simple maintenance tasks.

The role offers a structured path for learning and progression, with overtime potential and benefits within a team‑oriented culture. A current driver’s licence and Australian working rights are required.

Qualifications

• Basic to intermediate mechanical knowledge required.
• Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions.
• Willingness to undertake training and upskill on equipment and processes.

Responsibilities

• Clean the yard and perform lawn mowing as required.
• Assist with parts pickup/delivery to Workshop Manager or Supervisor.
• Carry out building maintenance tasks (e.g., gutters, painting) as directed.
• Maintain depot premises and gardens; support workshop crew with daily tasks.
