Job summary

Busways in Blacktown seeks a Depot Maintenance Assistant to support mechanical trades and workshop teams, helping uphold fleet maintenance standards. The role focuses on hands-on tasks and site upkeep, with opportunities for training, licence upgrades, and progression.

You will work across a busy depot environment, completing maintenance, deliveries, and ad-hoc tasks while staying safety-conscious and adaptable to changing schedules.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work a variety of shifts.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in working in a team environment on daily maintenance and repair schedules.
• Be physically fit to carry out the necessities of the role which includes heavy lifting.
• Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical check, and working with children check.
• Hold a current unrestricted Australian drivers licence issued by the relevant State.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning the yard and mowing lawns asrequired
• Emptying bins in the workshops and depot yard asrequired
• Picking up and delivering parts and other objects as directed by the Workshop Manager/Supervisor
• Carrying out maintenance and repairs to buildings asrequired, such as cleaning gutters and painting
• Maintaining gardens and depot premises asrequired
• Perform ad-hoc tasks and other duties as directed

This role provides support to our mechanical tradespeople and wider workshop based team to ensure our high standards in maintaining and upkeeping our fleet are consistently met. Our workshop staff play a critical role within the business to ensure our ever-evolving fleet of vehicles are continually maintained to the highest standard to keep our staff and passengers safe out on the road.

You can expect to be provided with all necessary training, this will include relevant information about our various makes and models of vehicles to ensure a thorough understanding of standards required to meet contract obligations.
