Job summary

Kmart Department Managers are crucial to our success, leading teams to deliver high standards of customer experience through effective merchandising, replenishment, and customer service. Requiring strong product knowledge and the ability to adapt to changing priorities, whilst ensuring a safe and compliant store environment through effective process execution and team leadership.

• Leadership & Motivation – Support team decisions and promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging team culture, involving others appropriately in team-based activities and projects.
• Strategic Thinking – Address process breakdowns with speed and attention to detail, using data, metrics, and benchmarks to drive effective solutions.
• Relationship Building – Share information transparently to avoid surprises and involve others where appropriate to achieve individual and team goals.
• Operational Excellence - Focus on both processes and outcomes, continuously improving ways of working by adapting methods to eliminate inefficiencies and wasted effort.
• Resilience & Adaptability – Learn from mistakes and adjust quickly, demonstrating the ability to adapt and build capability when facing new situations.
• Growth Mindset – Apply new concepts and approaches to solve problems, embracing continuous learning and supporting team members to feel confident through change and improvement initiatives.
