Job summary

West Pymble Dental Surgery is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our busy practice in a flexible, full-time/part-time/casual role. You will welcome patients, manage bookings, answer enquiries, process payments and support infection control as needed.

This hands-on role offers cross-training in sterilisation and infection control, with opportunities across the Abano Healthcare network and a long-standing local presence.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in dental reception and/or assisting.
• Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting is advantageous.
• Confident supporting patients and working with the clinical team.
• Reliable, trustworthy and team‑focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming patients and providing a friendly first contact.
• Managing the appointment book and scheduling, confirming, following up.
• Answering phones and handling patient enquiries.
• Processing payments, billing and HICAPS claims.
• Keeping reception organised and communicating with patients and staff.
• Managing reception when the Practice Manager is unavailable.
• Support sterilisation and infection control as trained.
• Work with clinical team to maintain efficient practice flow.
