Job summary

DentEssential Dental Surgery in Richmond, NSW is seeking a motivated Dental Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis. You will provide clinical support to the dentist across a range of dental procedures, while helping keep the practice organised and patient‑facing with a welcoming approach.

Ideal candidates may hold Certificate III in Dental Assisting, or have equivalent experience, with excellent communication, strong organisational skills and strict infection control practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist with a variety of dental procedures.

• Provide friendly and compassionate patient care.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and assist with patient documentation.
• Support day-to-day practice operations and reception duties as needed.

You will provide clinical support in a professional and welcoming environment, assisting the dentist with a variety of dental procedures and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting the dentist with a variety of dental procedures
• Preparing treatment rooms and setting up instruments and equipment
• Sterilising instruments and maintaining high standards of infection control
• Ensuring treatment rooms are clean, organised and ready for patients
• Providing friendly and compassionate care to patients
• Maintaining accurate clinical records and assisting with patient documentation
• Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice
• Assisting with reception duties, appointment scheduling and patient enquiries (when required)

About you

• Certificate III in Dental Assisting (preferred but not required)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A friendly, professional and patient-focused approach
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• A good understanding of infection control and sterilisation procedures
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
