Job summary

Cornerstone Health is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dentists and the Our Medical Dental team. You will manage chairside tasks, prepare the clinical room, and help ensure a smooth, patient-focused experience across the clinic.

The role requires at least 1+ years in dental assisting, strong communication, and a commitment to safety. Certificate III in Dental Assisting is preferred; experience with Dental4Windows is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication with patients and staff.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities to support dentists.
• Reliable, punctual and patient-focused care delivery.
• Commitment to infection control and safety standards.
• Experience with dental software and clinic workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the assigned dentist with chairside assisting.
• Prepare and stock clinical room for all procedures.
• Maintain infection prevention and control standards.
• Provide a professional patient experience in all interactions.
• Assist with instrument processing, sterilisation and lab tracking.
• Support daily operations across the clinic with the team.
• Assist with reception duties including bookings and recalls.
• Assist with stock management, external lab co-ordination and in-house lab work.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and patient-focused Dental Assistant to join the Our Medical Dental team.

In this role, you will play a key part in supporting dentists and the wider team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the clinic, while delivering a high standard of care and an outstanding patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support your assigned dentist, including proactive chairside assisting throughout the day
• Take ownership of the clinical room, ensuring it is fully prepared, stocked, and ready for all procedures
• Maintain the highest standards of infection prevention and control to ensure patient and team safety
• Provide a supportive, professional, and caring experience for patients at every interaction
• Assist with the efficient processing, sterilisation, and barcode tracking of instruments
• Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth daily operations across the clinic
• Support reception duties including appointment bookings, enquiries, billing, recalls, and follow-up calls
• Assist with stock management, external lab coordination, and in-house lab work

Helping to manage stock levels, coordinating external lab work and assisting with in-house lab work.
