Coastal Dental Care Runaway Bay is a casual Dental Assistant role, chairside every day at our Runaway Bay practice. You’ll work closely with Dr Will Dear and the Practice Manager to keep things running smoothly for our patients.

The role involves setup/closure of rooms, assisting chairside, sterilisation, and stock management within a supportive team on the Gold Coast.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in a dental assisting role, including chairside support.
• Strong knowledge of infection control and sterilisation processes.
• A caring, professional and patient-focused approach.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.
• Willingness to keep infection control and first aid qualifications current.

Responsibilities

• Set up and close treatment rooms, keep surgery and sterilisation area neat and compliant.
• Assist dentists chairside: pass instruments, prepare materials and process digital X-rays.
• Sterilise and reprocess instruments and maintain infection control records.

Job description

Coastal Dental Care Runaway Bay is co-owned and led by our principal dentist, Dr Will Dear, right in Runaway Bay Centre. We’re part of a dentist-owned network of 18 practices across the Gold Coast, but each practice runs like your local: close relationships with patients and a team that actually knows each other.

About the role

This is a Dental Assistant role, chairside every day at our Runaway Bay practice. It’s a casual position, with shifts set right from the start, the roster may flex week to week to suit the practice. You’ll work closely with Dr Will Dear, the Practice Manager and the wider practice team to keep things running smoothly for our patients.

What you’ll be doing

• Setting up and closing treatment rooms, and keeping the surgery and sterilisation area neat and compliant
• Assisting our dentists chairside: passing instruments, preparing materials and processing digital X-rays
• Sterilising and reprocessing instruments, and keeping infection control records up to date
• Helping manage stock levels and general practice admin

What we’re looking for

• 2+ years' experience in a dental assisting role, including chairside support
• Strong knowledge of infection control and sterilisation processes
• A caring, professional and patient-focused approach
• Strong attention to detail and reliability
• Willingness to keep infection control and first aid qualifications current

Preferred

• Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting
• Familiarity with Dental for Windows (D4W) or similar software
