Job summary

QV Dental in Melbourne’s CBD is seeking a friendly and reliable Dental Assistant for a part-time role (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays). You’ll support the dental team in a modern 4-chair practice, delivering patient-centred care and assisting with a variety of procedures.

You’ll work closely with the Practice Manager, handle sterilisation, patient preparation and room setup, while upholding safety standards and collaboration with dentists and hygienists.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Dental Assistant is essential.
• Cert III or IV in Dental Assisting is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Prior experience with EXACT dental software is beneficial.
• Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Capability to address patient concerns and resolve issues with professionalism and empathy.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Assist with patient management, including greeting patients, preparing them for procedures, and ensuring their comfort.
• Clinical Support: Prepare and sterilise dental instruments, assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, and maintain a clean and organised treatment area.
• Inventory Management: Monitor dental supplies levels, ensuring the treatment room is well-stocked and organised.
• Patient Education: Provide patients with post-operative care instructions and educate them about oral hygiene and preventive care.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and other staff to ensure a smooth workflow and positive patient experience.
• Compliance: Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, as well as regulatory requirements in the dental practice.

QV Dental, located in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, is currently seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Dental Assistant to join our team in a part time basis Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
