Ovolo Hotels Group is seeking a Demi Chef for Breakfast and Lunch Service in Brisbane. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will assist in growing our food offering, menu development and workflow design, bringing personality and a fresh approach to a vibrant, non-traditional kitchen.

This full-time role requires flexibility in availability and the ability to work across breakfast and lunch shifts in a lively hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a kitchen crew member in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Ability to follow recipes and maintain high culinary standards.

Responsabilités

• Controlling food preparation and managing wastage for your section.
• Leading by example as a hands-on chef with quality assurance and standards.
• Assist in development through innovative and original menu planning and maintenance of high food standards.
• Establishing and maintaining effective employee working relationships at all times.
• Bring on-trend ideas, new dishes, new concepts and new menus to make our food offering the best in the area.
• Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and hygienic at all times.
• Ensure all stocks are kept under optimum conditions.
• Ensure all mis-en-place is freshly prepared and on time.
• Ensure dishes are prepared to the correct recipe and quantity.
• Operate within legislation and keep up-to-date records.
• Personal grooming and appearance standards are met for cleanliness and hygiene.
• Actively share ideas in daily shift briefings.
• Ensure storeroom requisitions are accurate

The Gig

We are currently on the lookout for our next Demi Chef for Breakfast & Lunch Service. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will be assisting with the growth of our food offering, menu and workflow design. It goes without saying that our food will be paramount, but not like that all too-slick, corporate blah blah experience happening elsewhere in your traditional restaurant. We have a bit of personality, a bit of freshness, interesting and quirky, we shine and are always changing.

This is a HIGA Full-Time role which will require flexibility within your availability.

Your Responsibilities Will Include But Not Limited To

• Controlling food preparation and managing wastage for your section
• Leading by example as a hands‑on‑chef with excellent quality assurance and standards
• Assist in the development through innovative and original menu planning and maintenance of high food standards
• Establishing and maintaining effective employee working relationships at all times
• Bring your on‑trend ideas, new dishes, new concepts and new menus to make our food offering the best in the area
• Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and hygienic at all times.
• Ensure all stocks are kept under optimum conditions.
• Ensure all mis‑en‑place is always freshly prepared and on time.
• Ensure all dishes are being prepared to the correct recipe and to the correct quantity.
• Ensure the department is operated within the appropriate legislation and the appropriate records are maintained up‑to‑date.
• Personal grooming and appearance standards are met regarding cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene.
• Actively share ideas, opinions and suggestions in daily shift briefings
• Ensure storeroom requisitions are accurate

About You
