Job summary

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts on the Gold Coast is seeking a part-time kitchen team member to assist in ingredient preparation, cooking, and station upkeep. You will portion and store food, operate kitchen equipment, and ensure quality and safety throughout service.

The role requires basic food-handling skills, the ability to follow recipes and safety policies, and a readiness to work as part of a busy culinary team. This is an on-site position at 71 Sea World Drive, Main Beach.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Related Work Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience.
• Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking and portion, chop, and store food.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients; prepare and cook according to recipes, standards, and checklists.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers; test foods for doneness and monitor quality.
• Set up and break down work station; maintain cleanliness and safety policies.
• Follow safety procedures; report maintenance needs and unsafe conditions to manager.
• Maintain professional appearance and positive working relationships; support team to reach goals.
• Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods; lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
