Job summary

Stamford Grand Adelaide is seeking a motivated Demi Chef to join our kitchen team on an ongoing casual basis. You will work closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen crew to deliver high quality dishes across hotel outlets.

This hands-on role offers exposure to fine dining in a fast-paced hotel environment, opportunities to develop technical skills, and a flexible 7-day roster including weekends and public holidays. Applicants must have Australian working rights.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Demi Chef or in a similar commercial kitchen environment.
• Relevant culinary qualifications and/or appropriate industry experience.
• Strong food preparation and cooking skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present food to a consistently high standard.
• Assist with the preparation and delivery of food for restaurants, banquets, conferences, weddings and other events.
• Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining quality and presentation standards.
• Follow recipes, portion controls and established food preparation and presentation standards.
• Maintain a strong understanding of cooking techniques and demonstrate attention to detail.
• Assist with stock rotation, storage and minimising food wastage.
• Ensure all food is prepared, stored and handled in accordance with food safety and hygiene requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment at all times.
• Communicate effectively with the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef and wider kitchen team during service.
• Assist with the training and development of junior kitchen team members where required.
• Support the kitchen team with the smooth delivery of daily operations and functions.
