The Henley on Broadwater in Southport, Queensland, invites a skilled Demi Chef to join our warm, professional kitchen on a part-time basis (minimum 20 hours per week). You will contribute to breakfast, lunch and early dinner service, helping to deliver high-quality meals crafted for our residents.
We value pride in craft, reliability and teamwork. A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery is desirable, and Food Safe knowledge is an advantage; willingness to obtain these qualifications is supported
The Henley on Broadwater is a nationally recognised premium retirement living community, perched on the edge of the Broadwater in Southport. Our full-service bistro and café operates seven days a week, and our kitchen team produces meals our residents genuinely look forward to, not mass-produced, not assembly-line. Real food, made with care, for people who have high expectations and the time to notice.
We're looking for a skilled and reliable Demi Chef to join our team in a part-time capacity - minimum 20 hours per week, with genuine flexibility for additional hours and function work for the right person.
You'll work within a small, professional kitchen team reporting to our Head Chef and Bistro Manager. Day to day, this means solid food production, breakfast, lunch and dinner service, cabinet items, specials, and seasonal menus, delivered consistently and to a high standard. When the Head Chef is away, you step up. That's the expectation, and it matters here.
This isn't a role that suits someone looking to coast. It suits a chef who takes real pride in their work, communicates well, and understands that in a retirement living community, the people you're cooking for are the entire point.
You'll bring relevant experience from a hotel, restaurant, café, bistro, or aged care kitchen and you'll be the kind of person who sets their section up properly, turns up when they say they will, and doesn't wait to be told when something needs doing.
You'll need to be available for a rotation roster including weekends and most public holidays, and be willing to contribute to community functions as they arise.
A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery is desirable, and a Food Safe Certificate is an advantage - though we can support the right candidate in obtaining these.
