Job summary

Sleep Doctor & Mobility Doctor Echuca in Echuca, VIC, is seeking a hands-on Delivery Driver / Mobility Equipment Assistant. You will drive delivery vans, install products in customers' homes, assemble equipment and support workshop tasks at the Echuca store.

Ideal candidates are reliable, practical and comfortable working in customers' homes, with opportunity to engage showroom customers. Prior retail experience is a plus but not required. NDIS and police checks will be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Drive company delivery vans throughout Echuca and surrounding regional areas.
• Deliver bedding, adjustable beds, mobility equipment and other products directly to customers.
• Carry out in-home assembly, installation and setup of products.
• Demonstrate basic product operation to customers following installation.
• Safely load and unload delivery vehicles.
• Complete manual handling and lifting as a regular part of the role.
• Collect equipment and products when required.
• Assemble and prepare new mobility equipment.
• Assist with basic workshop repairs, servicing and maintenance.
• Clean and prepare equipment for delivery or customer use.
• Assist with stock movements and incoming deliveries.
• Maintain delivery vehicles, workshop and storage areas in a clean and professional condition.
• Provide a high standard of customer service during deliveries and installations.
• Assist customers in-store when required and where comfortable.

About Us

Sleep Doctor and Mobility Doctor Echuca is a long-established local business supplying bedding, mobility equipment and assistive technology throughout Echuca and the surrounding region.

We supply everything from mattresses and adjustable beds through to lift chairs, wheelchairs, walkers and other mobility and daily-living equipment.

We're looking for a reliable, practical and customer-focused person to join our team across deliveries, in-home installations and our mobility workshop.

The Role

This is a hands-on and varied position involving driving our delivery vans, delivering and installing products in customers' homes, and assisting with equipment assembly, preparation and workshop tasks at our Echuca store.

A significant part of the role involves working directly in customers' homes, including with older people and people living with disabilities. You'll be representing our business every time you make a delivery, so being professional, personable and comfortable dealing with customers is important.

While this is not primarily a sales position, previous retail or sales experience would be highly regarded. There may also be opportunities to assist customers in our showroom when required.

What We’re Looking For

A current Australian driver's licence is essential.

You will also need to:

• Be confident and safe driving delivery vans
• Be physically capable of regular manual handling and lifting
• Be practical and comfortable assembling and installing products
• Be comfortable working inside customers' homes
• Be reliable, punctual and well presented
• Communicate confidently and professionally with customers
• Be respectful and patient when working with older people and people living with disabilities
• Be comfortable using basic hand and power tools
• Be able to work independently while also contributing to the broader team
• Be willing to learn about bedding, mobility and assistive equipment

Previous experience in deliveries, furniture installation, warehousing, mobility equipment, mechanical work or another hands-on role would be advantageous.

Retail or sales experience is not required, but would be a genuine advantage. The role involves regular interaction with customers in their homes, and there may also be opportunities to assist customers on the showroom floor.

NDIS Worker Screening and Police Checks will be required due to the nature of our work.
