Job summary

FinXL IT Professional Services is seeking an experienced Test & Evaluation (T&E) Manager / Systems Engineer to lead complex systems-of-systems integration testing for a critical defence capability at a Canberra facility.

You will manage end-to-end T&E activities, advise on test objectives, and coordinate TRCs/TRRs with defence stakeholders to ensure robust engineering assurance across deployable C4I architectures.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated track record leading systems engineering, trial conduct and test management in Defence or mission-critical environments.
• Solid background across Land Combat Systems, C4I networks or deployable defence ICT architectures.
• Experience establishing structured test regimes, baselines, and engineering artifacts.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building across multidisciplinary military, civilian and contractor teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end T&E activities, trial planning, and technical reporting across DT&E, AT&E and OT&E stages.
• Advise project managers on test objectives, trial feasibility, and operating envelope limitations in battle lab and field environments.
• Plan and facilitate formal gateways, including Test Readiness Conferences (TRCs) and Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs).
• Analyze integration telemetry and author ATProcs, Test Plans and operational evaluation reports.
• Coordinate with CASG, capability leads and external partners to prioritise and execute test schedules.
