Job summary

Randstad is seeking Systems Engineers with specialised expertise in Verification and Validation (V&V) to support key defence acquisition projects in Canberra. You will lead planning, coordination, and execution of Integration, Verification, Validation, and Test & Evaluation (T&E) to ensure complex systems meet Defence standards.

The roles suit candidates with extensive experience delivering maritime and/or land capability systems, not solely ICT or software testing backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Experience on major defence acquisition or sustainment initiatives.
• Understanding of core systems engineering concepts and verification across lifecycle.
• Experience with verification matrices, test procedures, requirement traceability, and verification plans.
• Experience with system integration, qualification, acceptance testing, or platform trials.
• Experience supporting verification, integration, or testing of complex systems (maritime, land, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Verification & Validation Plan for complex defence projects.
• Conduct Test & Evaluation activities, including drafting test procedures, schedules, acceptance criteria.
• Perform systems integration and operational testing, including platform trials.
• Evaluate test outcomes and verification evidence to spot defects and manage risks.
• Collaborate with Defence stakeholders to ensure V&V and T&E comply with regulations and standards.
