Job summary

Randstad Defence is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support the Procurement & Supply Chain function of a global defence company. You will deliver accurate and timely materials planning across the procurement & supply chain, working with suppliers to ensure continuity and value.

This is a long-term contract role based in Western Australia with a potential to convert into a permanent position. You will help with demand planning, inventory accuracy and supplier negotiations, contributing to

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related experience.
• Experience in supply chain planning, materials management, or related procurement experience.
• Exposure to ERP systems for inventory, materials, and planning functions.
• Understanding of demand planning, supply planning, and inventory optimisation principles.
• Familiarity with data governance, reporting tools, and maintaining planning accuracy across systems.
• Proven ability to solve planning challenges.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with key stakeholders on supplier and contract negotiations.
• Australian citizen and Baseline security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain material plans aligned with demand forecasts and inventory targets.
• Maintain accurate ERP data to ensure inventory precision and compliance.
• Support integrated business planning, including demand, supply, and inventory optimisation.
• Manage supplier communications to ensure supply continuity, lead times, and scheduling.
• Lead or support planning projects and process improvement initiatives.
• Ensure all activities comply with procurement policies, industry standards, and contracts.
• Raise purchase requisitions and evaluate quotes to drive value-for-money outcomes.
