Job summary

Shadbolt Group, based in South Australia, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver complex Defence projects. You will oversee site-based activities, manage schedules, budgets and risks while guiding Project Engineers, Supervisors and subcontractors, maintaining strong Defence Prime relationships.

You will bring a strong background in Defence, engineering or infrastructure, plus excellent stakeholder management, planning and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years' experience managing complex projects.
• Demonstrated experience delivering site-based projects safely, on schedule and within budget.
• Experience working with Defence Prime Contractors or major Defence, government or industrial projects.
• Strong commercial and contract management capability.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Sound understanding of Australian WHS and HSEQ requirements.
• Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Defence Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the safe and successful delivery of contracted project scopes.
• Plan, coordinate and oversee site-based project activities.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, risks and performance.
• Lead and develop Project Engineers, Site Supervisors, Leading Hands and project personnel.
• Coordinate labour, subcontractors, suppliers, plant and equipment.
• Manage client and stakeholder relationships, including Defence Prime Contractors and Commonwealth representatives.
• Monitor project financial performance, forecasting, procurement and variations.
• Ensure projects meet contractual, Defence, HSEQ and quality requirements.
• Identify and resolve operational issues to maintain project delivery.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, tendering and business development opportunities.
