Job summary

Rashi Joshi leads a major defence and technology organisation delivering complex systems engineering and capability solutions to government and defence customers.

A Project Manager will own delivery outcomes across cost, schedule, quality, risk and stakeholder management, guiding multidisciplinary engineering teams and serving as the main point of contact for customers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing engineering, systems development or defence projects.
  • Strong leadership to motivate multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules and commercial outcomes.
  • Knowledge of project planning, scheduling and Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and proactive delivery approach.
  • Australian Defence Security Clearance or ability to obtain one.

  • Managing project plans, budgets, schedules and forecasts to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Leading customer reviews, project governance meetings, gate reviews and progress reporting activities.
  • Establishing and managing subcontractor arrangements and supplier relationships.
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks while driving effective project controls and reporting.
  • Providing leadership and direction to engineering and support teams to achieve key project milestones.

Job description

Your new company Our client is a leading Australian defence and technology organisation delivering complex systems engineering and capability solutions to government and defence customers. With a strong project portfolio and an established reputation for technical excellence, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of critical programs across the business.

Your new role Reporting to the Program Manager, you will take ownership of project delivery outcomes across cost, schedule, quality, risk and stakeholder management. You will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams while acting as the primary point of contact for customers, subcontractors and key internal stakeholders.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Demonstrated experience managing engineering, systems development or defence projects
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coordinate multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules and commercial outcomes
  • Knowledge of project planning, scheduling and Earned Value Management (EVM) principles
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and a proactive approach to project delivery
  • An Australian Defence Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
