Job summary

Lockheed Martin Australia is seeking a highly experienced Mechatronic/Mechanical Engineer to lead evaluation, certification and technical governance for the GWEO program. Working with Defence stakeholders, LMC and industry partners, you will help position Australian suppliers to participate in the broader US supply chain.

Key duties include planning, evaluating and certifying supplier products, ensuring safety documentation is produced, and guiding technical reviews and trade studies from design

Qualifications

• Significant engineering leadership across complex technical processes and deliverables.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines with stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder engagement in a Defence environment.
• Experience with explosive ordnance or missile systems is advantageous.
• Knowledge of US Defence processes and ordnance development or manufacturing is advantageous.
• Solid understanding of System Safety and its importance in complex systems.
• Familiarity with configuration management principles and tools like Windchill.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, evaluation and certification of supplier products.
• Support safety and certification activities, ensuring required documentation is developed and maintained.
• Provide overarching technical governance from design to production to ensure fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Provide input to the Missiles and Fire Control technology strategy to support growth.
• Build strong technical and governance relationships with Defence and Lockheed Martin stakeholders.
• Support technical issue resolution, proposal development and strategic engineering activities.
• Provide engineering management of product evaluation activities across the GWEO program.
• Develop technical documentation and Technical Data Packs as required.
• Lead and participate in Technical Reviews and Trade Studies.
• Review technical deliverables for deficiencies against requirements and objectives.
• Participate in workshops and reviews supporting production process design and capability development
