Job summary

Ventia is seeking a Trade Repair Officer to join the Defence Maintenance Contract team at Robertson Barracks, Holtze, NT. This full-time role supports reliability and readiness of Defence assets, requiring autonomous work and effective communication under Ventia and Defence supervision.

The position offers ongoing training, career development and a supportive environment within one of Australia’s largest essential services providers.

Qualifications

• Recognised trade certificate or equivalent in a relevant mechanical/electrical discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in the relevant trade.
• Experience in maintenance management, technical inspections and quality audits.
• Experience in Defence or military maintenance environment; SAP experience is highly regarded.
• Current Driver's Licence.
• Strong communication and ability to work effectively within diverse teams.
• Ability to work autonomously with a high level of attention to detail.
• Commitment to promoting a positive safety culture and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage maintenance activities with local providers.
• Order and manage parts using Defence IT systems and processes.
• Conduct handover activities and related receipt/issues processes.
• Organise on-site repairs through local maintenance contractors and perform minor trade-approved repairs.
• Manage off-site maintenance via quotes, purchase orders and invoicing; perform QA inspections within scope of trade.
• Liaise with key Defence equipment and facility stakeholders.
