Job summary

Babcock Australasia is seeking a qualified Hydraulic Technician to refurbish, test and maintain hydraulic and mechanical systems for Defence assets. In a specialised workshop, you will strip, survey, clean, troubleshoot and conduct tests while following procedures and quality standards.

You will support the Lead Technician and Workshop Manager in achieving targets and contributing to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Mechanical trade and hydraulics experience required.
• Desirable training/certificates in hydraulics.
• Understanding of quality processes for high integrity assets.
• Extensive refurbishment experience of hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed drawings.
• Current C Class driver’s licence.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and IFS.

Responsibilities

• Strip, survey, clean, troubleshoot and test hydraulic and mechanical equipment.
• Support Lead Technician and Workshop Manager to meet targets.
• Maintain workshop equipment and manage clean room activities.
• Document work accurately and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Assist with training and mentoring where needed.
